The drum granulator is the mainstream granulation equipment in the fertilizer industry, widely used in the production of organic fertilizers, compound fertilizers, slow-release fertilizers, and bio-organic fertilizers.
The drum granulator consists of a cylindrical drum, a transmission system, a support device, a feeding device, a discharging device, a water/slurry spraying system, and a dust removal device.
This equipment can also be used for granulating powder materials in the chemical and mining industries, such as catalysts and mineral particles.
Working Principle
The rotary drum granulator operates based on the principle of wet granulation. The mixed raw materials enter an inclined drum. As the drum rotates, the lifting plates lift the material to a certain height, and then it falls, forming a continuous material flow under the action of gravity, centrifugal force, and friction. Simultaneously, the water/slurry spraying system sprays liquid onto the material, wetting the surface of the solid particles and creating viscosity. During continuous tumbling and collision, the particles adhere to each other, gradually forming spherical particles.
Features
High Capacity: A single unit can produce 1-10 tons per hour, suitable for large-scale production and meeting the batch production needs of medium to large-sized fertilizer enterprises.
Stable Granulation: The material undergoes continuous and uniform mechanical action within the drum, resulting in highly rounded granules with uniform size distribution and a finished product qualification rate exceeding 85%.
Strong Adaptability: Capable of processing materials with a moisture content of 15%-30%, it has strong compatibility with raw materials and is suitable for granulation of various fertilizer types, including organic, inorganic, and bio-fertilizers.
